The Kean University Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization that receives, invests and administers private support for Kean University. Its continuing mission is to create and maintain philanthropic relationships with alumni, faculty, staff, friends, corporations and foundations that are committed to the success of Kean, its students and its goals. Foundation resources support the present and future needs of Kean, one of the largest public universities in New Jersey. Private contributions to the Kean Foundation make it possible to help deserving students through scholarships and endowments and provide support for many innovative programs and initiatives. Donors help to sustain a tradition of academic excellence and meet the needs of Kean’s students -- the leaders of tomorrow.

The Kean University Foundation is seeking an Executive Director to lead the Foundation team in developing and executing fundraising plans and creating new and exciting strategies for major gift outreach. As the chief strategist, operating officer and administrator of the Foundation, the Executive Director is responsible for developing, executing, tracking and reporting on the Foundation’s advancement efforts, scholarship activities, donor cultivation, alumni relations, strategic initiatives and management of the Foundation’s endowment. The Executive Director reports directly to the Kean University Foundation Board of Directors.

The Executive Director will provide oversight for all marketing and communication efforts of the Foundation. Additionally, the Executive Director serves as the liaison to the Kean University President’s Office and is responsible for ensuring seamless and coordinated strategic advancements and communications efforts between the two institutions.

Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree and five or more years of leadership experience in institutional advancement and philanthropic activities in higher education or in another related field is required or the equivalent as determined by the Kean University Foundation Board of Directors. A Master’s degree in a related field is preferred.
